The OV Strip
The Osborne Village Strip [sometime in the 80's or 90's, before all the vacant signs and rampart gentrification].
An art piece I created by adding mixed media to a found photograph taken in and around my city sometime in the 1980s and/or 1990s. This is just one of the several hundred photographs I found scattered around the dumpster of my apartment building one morning.
It would have been a shame for all of these photographs to just end up in a landfill somewhere... So I started repurposing them into art using whatever physical medium I could get my hands on [adding texture, repeating patterns, and abstraction]. I'm doing everything I can to document and catalogue the original photographs before working [read: ruining] them.
